ESX, in partnership with universities and in collaboration with its trading members, hosted capital market awareness sessions.
Addis Ababa, Ethiopia – December 01, 2025 – The Ethiopian Securities Exchange (ESX) has successfully concluded a series of impactful interactive sessions, themed “Pathways to Opportunity: Capital Market Awareness Sessions,” across universities in Addis Ababa.
In collaboration with Addis Ababa University’s Faculty of Business and Economics, the School of Commerce, St. Mary’s University, and Unity University, and with its trading members, CBE Capital, Ethio-Fidelity Securities, and Wegagen Capital investment bank, ESX engaged hundreds of students and academic staff across participating campuses.
The sessions provided participants with a solid understanding of how the growing capital market ecosystem works in Ethiopia, how the exchange operates, the investment products available, and the process of opening an investor account.
A significant feature of the sessions was the practical demonstration of the Exchange’s automated trading system. Simultaneously, ESX trading members guided students through the core functions of market intermediaries, highlighting career paths in finance, investment, and market intermediation.
ESX also celebrated the strong enthusiasm shown by participants, with many students and academic staff opening investor accounts on the spot: an encouraging sign of rising interest in Ethiopia’s emerging financial markets.
This series forms part of ESX’s ongoing commitment to fostering an inclusive, informed, and future-ready financial landscape by building a pipeline of knowledgeable investors and skilled professionals who will contribute to the nation’s evolving market economy.
