Addis Ababa, Ethiopia – March 18, 2026. The Ethiopian Securities Exchange (ESX), in collaboration with UN Women, the International Finance Corporation (IFC), and ACCA Ethiopia, officially hosted the “Ring the Bell for Gender Equality” at ESX trading floor, bringing global attention to the role of capital markets in promoting inclusion.

Held under the theme “Advancing Gender Equality in Economic Development,” the event convened leaders from the public and private sectors, as well as industry stakeholders, to discuss practical ways to strengthen inclusive leadership and advance gender-responsive business practices. Participants emphasized the importance of creating equitable opportunities for women, particularly in leadership, finance, and entrepreneurship, as part of broader economic development efforts.
