ESX Advances Regional Capital Market Awareness Across Ethiopian Cities
Addis Ababa, Ethiopia – December 22, 2025 -Over the past few weeks, the Ethiopian Securities Exchange (ESX) has been actively engaged in a series of regional outreach and investor education programs aimed at strengthening capital market awareness and participation across Ethiopia.
The regional engagement began in Arbaminch, where the visit was officially launched by ringing the bell for market opening alongside city leadership, university representatives, the Chamber of Commerce, academic staff, and students. The visit included investor education sessions with the local community, marked by thoughtful discussions and strong interest in capital markets and investment opportunities.
The outreach program then continued to Wolaita Sodo, where ESX conducted engaging investor education sessions and held discussions with city leadership, academic institutions, business representatives, and students. The strong participation reflected growing awareness of capital markets and their role in supporting economic development at the regional level.
The next stop in the regional outreach journey was Jimma, where the visit commenced with a market opening bell-ringing ceremony alongside university leadership, representatives from the Chamber of Commerce, academic staff, and students. ESX engaged the business community on how capital markets can support prospective issuers and retail investors, while interactive sessions with students focused on investments, financial literacy, and career opportunities in the capital markets. The high level of engagement underscored increasing interest in capital market participation.
In addition, in partnership with ECMA, ESX participated in a regional outreach program hosted at Ambo University, engaging students and academic staff on the fundamentals of capital markets and financial literacy. Strengthening understanding at the academic level is a key step in building an informed, inclusive, and sustainable capital market ecosystem.
ESX extends its appreciation to all stakeholders, including city administrations, universities, chambers of commerce, academic institutions, students, and local business communities, for their collaboration and active participation throughout the outreach program. ESX valued the opportunity to engage with stakeholders eager to deepen their understanding of capital markets and investment opportunities and is encouraged by the strong and growing momentum around investor education and capital market awareness across Ethiopia.
