The Ethiopian Securities Exchange (ESX) has successfully concluded its second regional roadshow aimed at promoting capital market awareness and advancing financial literacy across Ethiopia.

The multi-city initiative brought together university students, faculty members, local businesses, and members of the wider community through a series of interactive sessions focused on Ethiopia’s evolving capital market ecosystem.

In collaboration with Awash Capital Investment Bank and Gadaa Securities Dealer S.C, at Haramaya University, ESX engaged students and faculty members in discussions on the fundamentals of the capital market, how the exchange operates, investment opportunities available within the sector, and potential career pathways in the industry. Participants were also guided through the account opening and onboarding process and attended a live demonstration of the automated trading system.

The roadshow later continued with a two-day program in Dire Dawa, where ESX, together with its trading members hosted sessions for participants from Dire Dawa University and representatives from local businesses. Discussions focused on investment opportunities, access to finance, the role of the private sector in capital market development, and broader public participation in Ethiopia’s financial sector transformation.

Across both engagements, participants demonstrated strong interest through active participation, thoughtful discussions, and practical engagement with the trading platform demonstrations.

ESX expressed appreciation to Haramaya University, Dire Dawa University, and all participants and partners who contributed to the success of the roadshow and by bringing intermediary brokers directly to retail investors in regional hubs, ESX is actively working to dismantle geographical barriers to investment. The roadshow underscores the exchange’s broader vision: that a robust, modern capital market must fundamentally be an inclusive one, empowering businesses to raise capital and individuals to grow their wealth in every corner of Ethiopia.
