ESX, in collaboration with IFC, has successfully completed the ACI–FMA training program for banks, marking another important step in ongoing efforts to support capacity building in Ethiopia’s capital market.
The program brought together several cohorts and covered the ACI Dealing Certificate, ACI Operations Certificate, and Executive Leadership Training. It was designed to equip participants with practical knowledge and skills to support their professional development and preparation for upcoming certification exams.
A key focus of the training was to strengthen participants’ understanding of the role financial markets play in the broader economy. Through the ACI Dealing and Operations modules, participants explored the functions of financial markets, their different segments, and the range of instruments used across these markets. The sessions also introduced core concepts such as market efficiency, as well as the role of regulation and professional codes in ensuring transparency, integrity, and stability.
In addition, the program provided a structured overview of the life cycle of a typical financial market transaction. Participants developed a clear understanding of the main phases involved, from initiation to settlement, helping them build both technical knowledge and practical insight relevant to their day-to-day roles.
By combining technical certification training with leadership development, the program contributes to building a more skilled and confident workforce, which is essential for the development of a strong and well-functioning capital market in Ethiopia.
ESX appreciates IFC for its continued partnership and support in delivering this initiative and extends its thanks to all participants for their commitment and active engagement throughout the program.
